your piece is handmade out of reclaimed textiles!

they are delicate and will continue to age, but with the right care they will live even longer

here you will find best practices for keeping them beautiful!

  • -hand washing is best for these pieces, as it’s the most gentle way to clean textiles

-clothing and bags with delicate patchwork or stitching should be washed inside out when possible.

-add a little of your favourite laundry soap to a sink or bucket full of warm water and gently agitate the fabric.

-repeat until the water runs clean, then rinse until all soap is gone.

-squeeze (don’t wring) out any extra water.

-items will survive the washer if you must!

-keep in mind that the agitation of a washer will wear pieces faster

-if you choose to machine wash, use a gentle cycle, and for extra protection place items in a mesh bag (a pillow case knotted at the end can be substituted!)

  • -lay flat across the top of a drying rack or on a dry towel.

-this helps maintain the proper shape and prevents pieces from stretching out

-items will survive the dryer if you must!

-keep in mind that pieces will wear faster when exposed to the heat and agitation of a dryer,

    -use a low heat setting

  • -it’s natural for your goods to need care as they age. I encourage you to repair as you love and use your handmade pieces, so please patch and darn and mend!
